We Spoke through the questions written about things in or related to the Documentary ( See the post that Carol made on "This week on Bible Study" ). We Also shared some verses from the Bible we felt pertained. (I'll be posting those at the end of this post along with the questions they where directed towards). The general consensus was that we all liked the video a good deal (particularly the Night Strike and the Confession booth scene for most). We Spoke about the Saint Augustine quote "The Church is a whore, but she's my mother." and decided we all agreed with this statement. we talked about how the church is not so much a place for holy people to meet and greet but rather a place for the sick, those in need of Christ's word and a place of fellowship but sadly it is seldom treated as such. We discussed about the image most people get when they think of a Christian. How people often think of us as hypocrites and judgmental people and how what we really should be doing is showing love to others and helping the needy. We agreed the American Church was to comfortable. We usually talk about doing good things and helping others more than we really do because we are afraid to get out of our comfort zone (among other things) and how we seem to cling to strongly on prosperity and how much God is gonna bless us and give us shiny new things rather than what's really important. We also touched upon how we try in fit God into our agenda (Politically and otherwise) rather than the other way around. We also spoke about how we are just as bad as the Christians who judge because we judge and look down on them. So in the end we resolved that people aren't perfect, that we should be open and honest to people about our imperfections rather than sounding like a bunch of hypocrites, and that God calls us to Love the unloved and the unlovable just as much as we do the rest of society and thus we should practice love rather than judgment and humble ourselves and go out and help others.

----Scriptures------
How do you think Christians are perceived by other people ? Rom. 2:21-29

Why is the christian image the way it is ? what should it be Matt 23: 13-15, 23, 25; John 13: 34-35; Col. 4: 11-14; 1 Cor. 13; Luke 10:25

The American church, is it too comfortable ? Matt 13:22; Rev 3: 15-19; Luke 18:24-25
